Other Drug Problems and Attachments - A Transpersonal Approach - Stress Management and Serenity During Recovery
Charles L. Whitfield, MD
From the editor:
On the surface, this book is about a major part of people's recovery from alcoholism, other chemical dependence, and eo-dependence. Below the surface, it is about a major part of anyone's recovery from dependence upon or attachment to anything, with recovery from alcoholism being but a model.
Indeed, there are numerous conditions that cause suffering in our daily lives. Handling them can be viewed in a helpful way through the physical, mental and spiritual approach described throughout this book. To help relieve our suffering, we can begin to view this suffering as related to our addictions - as the Western world often calls them, or our attachments - as the Eastern world tends to describe them. We become addicted or attached to the.way we think things should be. This includes not only our physical posessions, but our relationships and even our personalities. Some examples of that to which we can become attached, and thereby frequently cause us suffering, are the following.
