President Bush is seeking a second term in office but opponents John Kerry and Ralph Nader are both eager to replace him after this fall’s election. In a year where the economy, Iraq, jobs, and social freedoms are all hot issues, the candidates have their work cut out for them if they want to convince the general electorate that they are the right politician for the job.
A recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll survey that interviewed 1,000 adults showed George Bush leading John Kerry 51 percent to 46 percent among likely voters. When activist Ralph Nader was factored in the survey’s results, it showed 50 percent for Bush, 44 percent for Kerry and 4 percent for Nader. Despite leading in the polls, less than half of respondents said they approve of the way Bush is handling the war in Iraq.

Lakers and Pacers - Gearing up for a showdown.
With the conference finals looming, both the Lakers and the Pacers put their game into high gear this week. On Friday night the Los Angeles Lakers will try to secure a 3-0 lead in their first round series with the San Antonio Spurs. The Pacers, paired with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, will begin their series on May 6th.
| Kill Bill – A breath of fresh air
This is the movie Tarantino fans expected after the success of Pulp Fiction, and were left hoping for after the disappointment of Jackie Brown. In Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Tarantino combines a variety of B-movie genres from spaghetti westerns to kung fu, and anime to samurai flicks, to create a masterpiece not soon forgotten in an era of teen flicks and cheesy romances. Tarantino has once again proven that he is worth the hype and that while his movies are wild, they are also full of art and insight into true human nature. |
